OneDrive syncing issues & losing work

Hi all Numerous team members have mentioned experiencing issues with OneDrive not saving/syncing changes they’ve made to documents and frustrations around needing to repeat work already done. Please take a minute to read the below as we come into a peak productivity period where we are all neck-deep in many tasks. If it happens to you please check: * is your operating system up to date? If not, update it. * are your Microsoft apps up to date? If not, update them. * is your internet connection stable? If not, try hotspotting. * if you’re working out of your local files on your computer and the desktop apps (Excel, Word), is your OneDrive logged in and syncing? You can check this in your toolbar. You might need to log out and back in. * when was the last time you closed the document? Please don’t leave it open in the background for days. Close it and reopen it as needed. * when was the last time you closed the app? Close it and reopen it as needed. I know some of this feels very “surely these systems are built to handle me doing XYZ” but nope, they are not. Issues generally occur when working with large amounts of data in documents/spreadsheets that multiple people are also working in. OneDrive runs various background tasks to sync your changes and can fail certain steps in the chain for a few reasons, breaking the sync without telling you. Stupid? Yes. But true. Other tips: * we do prefer using desktop apps for a few reasons, but you should find working out of your browser, as opposed to Word/Excel, to be much more reliable. The fault is in OneDrive’s delicate sync capabilities between your laptop’s local file storage and The Cloud. * in Excel, be mindful of filters and ‘Views’. If the row and column headers (A B C D / 1 2 3 4) have turned black, you’re in a filtered view, because you’re using a filter or sort function in the sheet to look at something. If multiple people have the sheet open and are working in it, it’s known to freak out and have trouble consolidating the changes you made in your View with everyone else’s. It can be safer to make bulk changes when not in View Mode. * Click the View menu, then to the left the eye/red cross ‘Exit’, and when prompted ‘Don’t save’. Hi all Further to the below an update from your beloved Procedures Development Working Group. We have made educated guesses on some of these and of course encourage you to reach out to/collaborate with others on the team as needed, it takes a village. The templates to use are in the folder, as are folders to save them into: Policies, Procedures, Registers, Forms (Staff)<https://apacaperth.sharepoint.com/:f:/s/PACAustraliaCore/IgAqofx3P6w8Rb59YV…> For example Sam is going to have a look in that Working List, grab a template, and save a document titled Petty cash management in the Financial folder, then mark it Done. Go Sam. Up to you whether you use the Word Doc or the Spreadsheet templates, follow your heart. In general: * Procedures: dot-points, bare-bones, as-complicated-as-you-want-them-to-be instructions. They need to be clear and useful, not award-winning. * Registers: a list of stuff? I’m kidding, sort of. These are case-by-case, there’s a couple IT-related ones in the Registers folder you can look at for examples, yes I haven’t transferred them onto the template yet. * Forms: I don’t imagine I need to explain to us what a form is. If we forgot some, add to the list by all means. And if you need to add your name against some and get involved, go for it. In some cases you’ll probably think “hey that already exists”—love that for you. Slap it on a template, name the file to match what’s in the Working List, save it in the relevant folder, mark it as Done, and enjoy the dopamine hit. In other cases you might think “my name’s against it but what does this Actually Mean”—fair. Reach out to one of the PDWG (P-Dawgs?) if you need to chat. And if you think Hey Nate, I Am A Little Busy Right Now—please don’t worry. This is a rolling, if-you-need-a-break kind of task. Maybe do one or two a fortnight. I’m going to say it would be great to have them all done by November but cannae provide a firmer deadline I’m sorry. Thanks team. This includes any IT & Systems references that previously lived in the IT & Systems folder. It will eventually also include things like “how to raise an invoice”, “how to request reimbursement”, etc—a comprehensive staff handbook essentially. The organisation of these folders may change a bit as it is still early days for the working group and we’re figuring out what works best and learning as we go, alongside a strong desire to not overcomplicate this, so thanks for bearing with. Staff Wellbeing Budget

Hi everyone, As per our discussion at today's team meeting, some details about the staff wellbeing budget: * Up to $50 per month for each staff member available from now * Purpose: to support activity or items that support your wellbeing with no restrictions, other than: * Non-work related costs * Not offsetting ongoing type costs (yes it would be nice to reduce the rent/mortgage but that's not the purpose of this) * Nothing illegal, and no vapes! * No pre-approval required, paid on a reimbursement basis * Submit the receipt for reimbursement using the staff reimbursement process in Team Finance * (Acknowledging that sharepoint folder is visible to all staff, so you can also email to me directly if you rather keep it more confidential). * It doesn't accrue, so its reimbursement of actual costs with maximum of $50 (if your receipt is higher, we'll reimburse $50 of it). YAY!!! As you know - Matt is a multi award-winning director, dramaturg, actor and writer with a passion for developing new work, and a long history with our company – for Black Swan he has directed Fully Sikh, The Seed, and most recently the critically acclaimed world premiere of The Shepherd's Hut. His career spans roles including Head of New Work at Melbourne Theatre Company, Artistic Director of Barking Gecko Theatre Company, and Senior Lecturer at WAAPA. We can't wait to see the bold, distinctive vision he brings to the role.
