From the website - short bio: I'm a writer, performer and funeral celebrant from Adelaide/Tarntangya who travels widely but always loves to come home. I have published novels, essays and short stories; and I have written, performed and produced six solo monologues. In 2025, I performed all six of my 'memoir monologues' in one big sell-out season at the Adelaide Fringe, winning several awards including a best theatre award, Spirit of the Fringe, and the prestigious Frank Ford Award. In 2026, I am thrilled to be launching my new book Pearls: Memoir Strands adapted from the scripts of my solo shows and published by Pink Shorts Press. Govt restricting travel

Dear board members, Just curious if anyone working directly with government is experiencing any travel enforcements due to fuel prices? I'm aware that the federal government is imposing strict restrictions on employee travel and noticed this week that City of Perth has banned all staff and councillor travel until 31 July. I'm wanting to gauge the risk of travel restrictions that might affect people's decisions to attend APAX (aside from the obvious risks related to costs to travel). Any insights appreciated! Wendy Blacklock Industry Legend Award

Hi everyone, It is that time of the year again to start considering the recipient of this year's Wendy Blacklock Industry Legend Award. For those new to the board, all other IMPACT Award recipients are determined by a nomination and panel process which will get underway in the next fortnight. The board is responsible for naming the WBIL recipient. I have attached the guidelines for your review/reminder and note this also includes previous recipients for background. In previous years, we have formed a small sub group of board members to discuss potential recipients and provide the board with a list and final suggestions for determination. This has worked well so I am suggesting we move forward with this again this year - if you are interested in participating in this sub group, can you please reply by Monday 11 May and we will arrange a brief meeting to get things moving. Of course, if you already have suggestions please do send them my way. Dear board members, We have an application for presenter membership from Bankstown Arts Centre for your review: Bankstown Arts Centre (BAC) is a vibrant contemporary multi-arts organisation that advocates for diverse and accessible art with a strong focus on Canterbury-Bankstown, Western Sydney, First Nations and CALD artists. Embedded in community, our projects connect people and address critical issues of our time. We champion experimental art practices for generative social impact. This is a first-time membership for Bankstown Arts Centre, noting that another facility under the management of their council (the Byran Brown Theatre) is currently a member. This additional membership is required under our Multiple Venues Policy, and is off the back of a team member at BAC recently being accepted into the Presenter Training Program. Salary Sacrifice expertise and experience

Good afternoon members, I hope this week is treating you well. Seeking your expertise and experience with salary sacrifice for staff to inform our initial scoping. If it's something you could possibly assist with, please see details following (otherwise feel free to move on!). We have received a request from a staff member to salary sacrifice their mortgage payments. We're conscious that salary sacrifice can be a significant incentive for staff which we would like to make available to the team in a comprehensive manner should we implement, but we'd appreciate any experience and advice. PACA currently has salary sacrifice in place for Superannuation only which does not attract FBT tax. Maria and I have conducted some initial research that suggests that: * Salary sacrifice payments such a mortgage and car payments attract FBT tax, which is the employer's responsibility with the ATO. * It is possible for the employee and employer to enter into an agreement where the employee part or fully pays the FBT component to the employer with after tax funds (in which case the employee should consider the cost benefits of their request). * PACA is a NFP and registered charity, but we do not have an FBT exemption in place. * FBT exemptions (to a capped amount) only apply for public benevolent institutions and health promotion charities, registered by the Australian Charities and endorsed by the ATO. As such, I don't believe PACA would be eligible. * PACA will incur additional financial management (time) and audit costs in delivering a salary sacrifice program including FBT. Are any members able to provide any advice about the above information, your experience or relevant policies? Hi everyone, For those who would like to attend an informal meeting of the board to discuss the audience roundtable project, we are proposing Monday 25 May at 5.00pm AEST - a calendar hold will be sent shortly. I realise it's late in the day on a Monday, but I'm very conscious of everyone's full schedules and trying to find a window that will suit all. I will see if Amy Maiden is available to join, but also conscious she has a very full-time job outside of this project as well. By this date we will have gone through the EOI process (due to be distributed to the sector next week) and will know who has been invited to participate. If there is anyone who is very keen to join this meeting but just can't make 25th May work, please let me know - if there are several, I will come back to the group with another suggested day.
