Hi everyone,

 

As flagged earlier this year, it’s time for us to be introducing AI into some of our work here at PAC Australia. Knowing that there are real and legitimate concerns everywhere around the use of AI, I’ve pulled together the attached document for the PAC team to consider and understand, so that we’re moving forward consciously, ethically and efficiently, not simply throwing AI into workflows blindly, as it’s not an “if” we’ll use AI, but how.

 

It is quite a lengthy document, but AI being simultaneously such a huge risk and huge opportunity demands us all to understand how we propose to move forward.

 

I’ll add it to the discussion at next week’s team meeting. You are welcome to raise anything directly with me, or at the meeting next week.

 

In the meantime, below are some of the video’s I used to bring myself up to speed on some of the very basics of AI – how it works, what’s going on when you’re using it, and what you could potentially use it for (there’s also more background materials and a glossary in the attached doc). It’s not a prescription for you to watch any or all of the below and I’m sure there’s plenty else out there; I’m only providing if you would find it helpful as an early starter. We can review actual training needs as part of the above process.
